What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the most prominent month of the Islamic calendar – a month of prayer and fasting for Muslims.
Muslims do not fast continuously throughout the month: they eat before dawn and break their fast at sunset each day. Each day the fast ends at sunset following the Maghrib prayers, with Ramadhan ending at the sighting of the moon on the 29th day if it can be seen. If not, 30 days of fasting will be completed.
Iftar and Taraweeh prayers take place at the Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses every weekday throughout Ramadan.
